I am in no way a “history buff”, but this book was absolutely captivating. Doris Kearns Goodwin succeeded at writing about Lincoln in a way no other historian has interpreted him. It was interesting to read about how his political acumen reached unmeasurable heights at a time where dissonance was endemic in America. After reading “Team of Rivals” you will conclude that not only was Lincoln a genius, but America best president.
